LIFE IN THE MARGIN:
The Making of an Activist

Morton Gladstone

In 1944 as a young US Captain, Morton Gladstone flew in the lead allied aircraft of the D-Day invasion. In Europe he witnessed the horrors of World War II. Fifty years later, on the 50th Anniversary of D-Day - in a CBS TV News Special with Walter Cronkite reporting on President Clinton, President Mitterand and other world leaders meeting in Normandy - Morton Gladstone, in the New York studios, was invited to reflect on the historic events and how they shaped and re-directed his life.
